Samburu - Nakuru - Naivasha- Masai Mara

Duration: 7 day(s) - Location: Samburu,Lake Nakuru ,Lake Naivasha and Maasai Mara

Samburu National Reserve –is situated 325 km north of Nairobi in dry areas of Northern Kenya. The locals are the Samburu people who are close relatives of Maasai people. This reserve has very unique animals which can’t be seen anywhere else in Kenya. These animals include the following, gerenuk, beisa oryx, grevy zebras and reticulated giraffes.

Lake Nakuru National Park is a 'Bird’s Paradise Park' with more than 400 bird species and millions of both lesser and greater flamingos. The lake is alkaline and very shallow. The park almost guarantees you to see the rhinos as it are a rhino sanctuary. Leopards and lions are also commonly spotted during the game drives.

Hell’s Gate National Park -The dramatic landscape of Hell’s Gate is within close proximity from Nairobi and offers a wonderful opportunity to see game on foot, mountain bike or in a vehicle. The variety of game most commonly seen within the park includes giraffe, zebra, buffalo and Thompson’s gazelle; however, you may have the chance of the occasional spotting of a cheetah. From Elsa gate, you may travel a circuit through Hell's Gate gorge with its dramatic cliffs and the volcanic pinnacles of Fischer’s and central tower. Narrow canyons cut into the rock further ahead and offer the opportunity of a very scenic walk. You can see the geothermal steam jets as you complete the circuit to the Ol Karia gate.

Masai Mara National Reserve is the best national reserve to visit throughout the year. While in Mara, you have the best opportunity to spot the big five within very few days. The big five includes the elephants, leopards, lions, buffalos and rhinos.
