Prides of lions are normally seen ready to make a run for a gazelle or in the act of bringing down zebras and other types of animals. Everything about Masai Mara is outstanding great and fun packed. The reserve has an abundance of wildlife and rolling grasslands that ensure wildlife are never out of sight. Birds are also found in large numbers including the migrants. Over 450 bird species have been recorded, among this number there are 57 birds of prey. The climate is gentle both for human beings and the animals; there is well spread rainfall throughout the year and it is rarely too hot.
Discover the Great Wildebeest Migration
There is very dramatic story which takes place annually in Masai Mara National Park at the Mara River. It is considered to be the greatest show on earth which takes place between the open plains of Masai Mara and the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Millions of wildebeests' and zebras migrate by crossing the river to Masai Mara in search of greener pastures as the season changes. The predators like lions normally follow this great herd as they wait for opportunities to strike weak ones when they make their way to Masai Mara. The best time to experience the Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration is between the months of July and late October annually.
